What are Specializations?

Specializations are earned by completing a set of 2–4 courses (8–14 units) focused on a specific theme. They offer an accessible way for students to deepen their academic interests without the larger commitment of a minor. Upon completion, students receive a certificate, a digital badge, and optional graduation regalia like an honor cord.

Why Pursue a Specialization?

Specializations help students showcase skills beyond their major, making them more well-rounded to employers. They are particularly helpful for students who may not have the flexibility to pursue a full minor.

Why EIS Specializations?

EIS specializations focus on human-centric areas within engineering, encouraging students to explore ethics, communication, and global experiences. They also strengthen the impact of EIS courses within engineering education.
